Backstory

Born in the Skatay Range, Dio was forced to leave his village at the age of 13 to become a Wood Warder as is expected of Vieran males. During his time there, he encountered a Imperial Optio who was defecting. Dio and the Imperial resulting in Dio narrowly losing and falling unconscious. Upon awakening, he was greeted to the sight of a warm fire, a hot meal, and the Garlean man sitting there, gunblade propped against the tree. Over the next few months, the Garlean would train Dio in the combat style of his homeland and the maintenance of Magitek before passing away due to illness.
     Dio would go on to bury the man who became like a father to him under the same tree they had first shared a meal and would leave the forests of his homeland for the life of an adventurer. He would make his way to the city-state of Ul'dah where he would register as an adventurer in the local branch of the Adventurer's Guild. When he was filling out the paperwork, he put his mentors name in place of a surname as a way to honor his memory.
      He would go on to use the Garlean fighting style with a katana, favoring the speed and strength of it to the more traditional gunblades of the Empire. He now takes jobs from the guild on a regular basis, completing them before returning to his home in Ul'dah or working in some of Eorzea's various clubs.
     One night, his wings manifested much to his panic as he was unaware of his biological fathers true nature. His father was the High Lord of a noble house of Fae and, having met his end, entrusted his most loyal servant to seek Dio out and convince him to take his rightful place as the next High Lord of of House Levinaire. Dio originally refused to take on this role, but seeing the sorry state of the once great court, Dio felt pity and reluctantly agreed.
